The new frame slider generation 2011: the Metisse X-PAD now with patented 7-time Impact Absorber System.
Six stainless steel springs support the visco-elastic impact absorber. in case of a crash the X-PAD compresses perfecty in a progressive way, absorbes the high impact energy and transformes it into a softer impact (see diagram). The patented Metisse X-PAD is the only slider that can offer this attributes. Individual bracket kits allow fitting without fairing modifications.
Most manufacturers produce only simple stiff crash pads which have one big disadvantage: in case of a crash the hard and high impact energy hit's directly (or via adaptor plates) the mounting points on the frame / engine. In worst cases those frame-/ engine lugs can crack, something that everybody is afraid of.
This safety risk is extensively eliminated with the new X-PAD technology. Between his plastic bottom and the 6-times mounted floating head a shock absorber is installed.
This allowes the X-PAD a for crash pads never known attribute: in case of a crash the pad compresses in a progressive way, absorbes the high impact energy and transformes it into a softer impact (see diagram). This prevents in nearly all cases the above mentioned frame cracks.
The patented Metisse X-PAD is the only crash pad that can offer this attribute, a MUST for everyone who want’s to ride save.

Material:
The bottom part generally is made from plastic with an integrated metal bush in the mounting hole.
The floating head is made from plastic or aluminium, available in different colours without extra charge. Safety is the same high on all variations.
